This is my wreath I tried to make it as close as possible to the one on the right I hope you like it.

Christmas Challenge day One

This is Day One of my Christmas Challenge I did Mog's the cat. Hope you like my writing.

Orienteering

For the end of our survivor thing, we got to do rotations, I did orienteering  second it was probably the hardest one we had to run around the school and find letters then come back to The Hive and figure out the word, the word was burrito and my troop was the only troop in Extreme team to get it right.
 Altogether I loved doing them all equally.

Fire

For the end of our survivor thing we got to do rotations,  I did fire last, I loved this rotation because we got to make a no burning fire, and we also got to use flint and steel I got a few sparks but not too many, I think this one was one of the easiest but in a survival solution probably the hardest.

Cooking

For the end of our survivor thing we got to do rotations, I did cooking first and we made bake potato and a banana dessert, the easiest one to make was defiantly the banana desert as all we had to do was stuff the marshmallows and chocolate in the cut banana, we tasted them after the things we made were cooked, my favourite thing we tasted was the baked potato, I wasn't a big fan  of the banana dessert as I'm not a big fan of banana either, but I loved this rotation as I got to do some that weren't hard or easy.

Bush survival

This is my backpack for a hike or a walk in the bush.

Fabulous Finish Term 4 week 7 More about me

This term for Chapter Chat the teachers read to us Ghost, the book was about a boy named Castle Cranshaw going by the nickname Ghost, in my opinion, Ghost had a rough family his dad tried to shot his mother. So they ran to Mr. Charles 24/7 country store later Ghost's dad was taken to jail. In the book, we meet these characters, Ghost, Lu, Patina, Sunny, Coach Broady, King, Mr. Charles and of course the school bully, Brandon.

For my Chapter Chat, I did More About me the hardest part was coloring as I'm not a big fan of coloring, the easiest part was doing the lines. I chose Lu because I really wanted to do him and he was like the main character but not really which is why I wanted to do him.

Bush Survival

 S.T.O.P

The s in S.T.O.P means stop and look around when you realize you're lost.

The t in S.T.O.P means think, look around and see what the situation is.

The o in S.T.O.P means to observe your surroundings.

The p in S.T.O.P means plan what to do next.

Water

To find water you can look for animal tracks as those could lead to running water as animals need water too.

Containers you might need to bring containers when you finally find your water source don't drink it bring it back to your shelter as the water is probably not safe to drink.

The water you got probably won't be safe drinking water but you can boil it in a pot or something fireproof to get rid of bacteria just make sure before you boil it that there are no leaves dirt or sand inside, you could filter these things out by using a clean sock or shirt, after the water boils just wait for it to cool down then drink your now hopefully safe drinking water.

Shelter

You need to make sure you build your shelter away from creeks or rivers.

You will need to build your shelter on a dry, flat surface.

Most importantly you need to make sure your shelter will protect you from rain and wind.

Fire 

You may have had your head stuck when I said you will need a fire to boil your water well here's how.

Build your fire on a flat surface that isn't too windy as that can take out the fire to make the fire you will need old dry grass, dry wood, and dry leaves and small twigs.

To light a fire you can use flint and steel or matches or a lighter if you have one in your backpack.

Place the old grass where you want the fire to be and put dry leaves and twigs around the dry grass make sure there are a few openings where you can see the dry grass once you lit your fire you may want to add logs in cross-motion then you'll have your fire.


Basic First Aid

Let's say you get a cut and you have no plasters or bandages you can use a piece of your clothing and wrap it around the wound and wait for it to heal but it's good that you rest for a little bit too but before you do that grab some water you'd biol and clean the wound first.

If you don't feel so good just have a rest for a while until you feel better if it gets worse you may want to know how to signal for help.

If your allergic to wasp or bee stings you probably have as EpiPen your bag its also good to have a First Aid Kit in hand if you encounter a cut or scrape.

Signaling for help

There are a few different ways to signal for help you can make a big fire that can be seen over the treetops.

You can have a flare gun, you might not have one but if you did it would be really handy.

Even having something that's noisy could help as if someone's camping they may be able to hear you.

Chapter Chat week 5 Term 4 Pick'n mix

This is my Pick'n mix I did a research center I had a lot of fun researching about them. My favorite one is the world's oldest cow.

 

Shelter Building

Today for the last Shelter Building rotation my troop (Tuis) had to make a shelter out of tarpaulin and rope. We had difficulty at first as we weren't talking too much together but we did start working together more like getting rocks to put on the side of the tarpaulin or holding things for someone, in the end, our shelter worked well. The hardest part when making the shelter was tying the rope and getting the tarpaulin over the rope as it was super windy, and the easiest part was at the end when we got the rocks on and someone went inside.

Chapter Chat Week 5 Term 4 Fantastic Favourite

This is the Fantastic Favourite I did a storyboard scene from the book we read this term Ghost. I did a classic scene where Mr. Charles ask Ghost "Let me guess sunflower seeds" and Ghost says "Let me guess a dollar.

Lego Challenge

This is my Lego Challenge I did, we had to make something involving the ocean, I did two scenes a lighthouse, and Dave picking up plastic on the beach.  The hardest part was finding the pieces for my scene, the easiest was building.

Chapter Chat Week 5 Term 4 A Way with Words

This is my Chapter Chat the only one I didn't do that isn't my pickin' mix or fantastic favorite was A Way with Words so I did it this week I did an acrostic poem about Brandon I hope you like it.

Shelter Building

The best place to build a shelter is near a water source not super close to a creek lets say but close enough if you run out of the water you can grab some  from that water source, you would also want to build your shelter in an open flat area if you don't wake up with something hard stabbing your back.

When building a shelter in the New Zealand bush you don't need protection from your shelter but if you hate mosquitoes you definitely will.

If you are stuck in the NZ bush look no further than the ground there likely will be sticks and other stuff to build your shelter, you may need when wanting to build a shelter is two trees big enough to build a shelter between them, sticks, twigs, and big tall leaves.

Some pros about sleeping in a bush shelter are, you close to nature, you can see wildlife and it most likely would be peaceful, some cons about sleeping in the bush could be it may be bumpy, you may not like bugs and that could be a con for most and being alone if you went by yourself.

Native Trees Blog Post

While doing native trees we researched a tree of our choice but before that, we planted Māunka seed in our pots we made out of newspaper. We also made lip balm and tea. I chose Pōhutukawa as my tree to research.

This week I did Research Centre about Jason Reynolds I loved researching about him.

This knot would be good if you need to tie something to a tree like supplies that are light and you don't want them to be on the ground also you can remove it quickly because it's easy to remove.

This knot was a difficulty rating of 2/5 because it was easy to tie but I don't think I could do it with my eyes closed.

This knot is a stopper knot. I think it would be useful to stop something small from not going down the rope.

Calf Club

On Wednesday was Calf Club. I woke up really early at 1 o'clock, I didn't go to sleep though because I was so excited so I read some of my books. Before Calf Club the hardest thing about doing my calf was leading she didn't want to lead when I needed her to while we were practicing.

When preparing my calf for the day the hardest thing was cleaning as my calf is super white lucky my mum helped me clean her. The thing that was challenging about Calf Club was the weather on the day and that my calf was over and done with after a while but it was fun at least. Well because my calf Edna did well in Beef Type and Rearing I'll be going to group day to see if I get Champion or something else.                                                                                                                                     

Chapter Chat Week 2 Digital Design

This week I did Digital Design we had to do Ghost new running gear the hardest part was doing the shoes and the shirt. I don't have a lot to say about it.

Calendar Art

Last term we did Calendar Art. We got to choose what teacher's art sounded the best for us and we started making art. I chose the scene one because I wanted to do a space theme. The hardest part was definitely the background because my hand hurt afterward. The easiest part was  to draw the picture because if I made a mistake I could rub it out unless I did it too hard. I hope you like it.

Term 4 Week 1 Chapter Chat Creation Station

This week I did Creation Station. There were two options either to draw Lu or Ghost I chose Ghost to draw. The hardest part was to draw him running. I hope you like it.

Gardening

 Gardening.
My mum and I did gardening on the last day of the holidays, we planted 3 citrus trees and lots and lots of flowers. We went to the garden shop near Thames to pick up the flowers and trees, after that, we went to the cafe next to the garden shop to grab a bite to eat, while we were sitting outside we saw someone paragliding. When we got home Dad had already prepared the dirt for us to plant the flowers, so we unpacked the flowers and trees from the back of the Ute and started planting them. When we were done planting the flowers it was time for the trees, we did the trees well when I mean we I mean my mum, then we were done gardening for the day.

This week we have been set to do this blog challenge we could do them in any order I decided to do the book cover first. I couldn't find the back cover for the book How to bee so there is no comparison. I did screenshot the bees but thats all. I hope you like it.

Fabulous Finish

This is the Fabulous Finish I did this term. I did a descriptive passage about Stanley Yelnats the first, I made a few things up because we only really met him once. I made a mistake on my writing which I'm not proud of, I guess when I was checking it over I said the words and imagined they were there but they weren't.
I added a suitcase, a burning house, God's thumb, some money, and documents at the bottom of my bad printed writing. I hope you like it I did try my best.

Digital Design

This week I did Digital Design. I did the advertisement for Stanley's dad cure for smelly foot odor. I added that Clyde Livington tested it also I added spray particles going out of it. We could do the advertisement because we finished reading the book Holes.

Fantastic Favourite

This is my week's Chapter Chat I decided to do Research Center because I love to research about new stuff, I got to research about Louis Sacher I do hope you like my research I put together it's simple but it shows my work.

A way with words.

This is my Chapter Chat for this week I did away with words because I haven't done it yet. I did Zero’s Obituary. The hardest part was doing Zero's personality because we don't know much about him at this moment. The easiest part was writing Camp Green Lake News.

Digital Design

This is my digital design for this week I did Sam the onion man, Mary Lou and his cartful of onions. The hardest part was doing Sam's eyes as I had to put the black bit in the right place. The easiest part was the onion cart and the building. I was gonna add Kate Barlow petting Mary Lou but didn't get around to that so I just did Sam, Mary Lou, Sam's onions and a building. I would have done more if I had two whole weeks but for what I did I think it's good.

Vocabulary Challenge

This week I did vocab it was very fun I loved to search the words intently​, presumably​,​ ​calloused​, ​writhed and defiance. I didn't know all of them so now I do.
