Hello newcomers if you are reading this I need to give you some tips when coming to Whetu, above are some tips and I hope they come in hand when you're in Whetu next year.

Secret Codes

Codes are in movies and in real life I want you to try and find out my little joke and to get the answer you have to slove it out the answer is in a code.

I decided that one code isn't enough so because Christmas is coming up I decided to do a Christmas joke. Here is a tip the words are scrambled.

This is the last joke and this one is about school and summer I guess so try to figure out. Tip it's another word scramble.

Athletics

At athletics, I had so much fun. My favourite thing about athletics was I got to hang out with my friends and doing shotput. While doing shotput I didn't throw it far in my mind but I did really good. In the high jump, I knocked off the bar and some other people did too. In the long jump, I think I  jumped really far but I know that other people did jump farther than me. In all my races I did kinda good I didn't get a 1st 2nd or 3rd, I think I got last in all my races but others also did.

I LOVE ATHLETICS!!!!

Crime scene in whare pukapuka media report

Later this week someone had broken into the Whare pukapuka at Ngatea primary school in the Whetu space and decide to steal some chocolate. If you saw someone on the school grounds on Sunday the 14 at around 4:27 pm please contact kerri.heaven@ngatea.school.nz or Juliel@ngatea.school.nz. The witness said it looked like a girl with short hair. Please help us catch this person.

Term 3 Reflection

During the term I think the best thing was teo maori because its so fun and I love learning more things about maori culture. Another thing would be the best thing was power play. Down below will be Rebecca and I creation of a airport and a word art with all the things I enjoyed and didn't enjoy about this term.

Calendar art

At school we have this thing called calendar art at the bottom of the page will be mine. I chose the colors because I love rainbows. The hardest thing when doing this was what color I was going to do.

Chapter Chat Round-Up

Now that the book is finished I wonder what will happen next to the Ingalls  family. I hope they found a good place to stay but I wish the ending would be a bit more exciting. It was a good book something I would change about it would be more excitement. But I know its a true story and nothing realing changes in a real story. Another thing I liked about the book was  I learnt a lot of things. This is my favourite Chapter Chat activity.

How Online Gaming Platform Roblox Is Helping Teenagers Become Millionaires

Roblox is an online platform that is used for kids 8 and up. Roblox has up to 64 monthly players. The California-based company gives 30% of any revenues  earned from the games to its creators. In 2017 Roblox paid out 30 million dollars, 3 million went out to one developer while the other creators got 2 million apiece. In 2018 the company had paid an outstanding $70 million to its most popular game created by members of Roblox 4 million strong developer group. This is the link to the article I got this form.  

Spring had sprung

 This is my blog post I did this week. I decided to do word art again because I thought it would be good for this blog. I did a plant because  in Spring plants grow. I chose the words because they remind me of Spring. 

Blokes day 2018

Blokes day is on Friday and my dad isn't coming. I chose to do word art, one of the words is lazy because my dad is lazy most of the time. I chose the quotes because I like them and they remind me of my dad. My dad and I play lots of games together when he want to, like slaps (which isn't fun for me but I do it anyway) and memory cards or any card game.

Cross country 2018

On cross county this year I completed my goal. My goal was to finish and I did just that. The hardest thing about cross country was slipping in the mud, I had to walk most of the way because I used most of my energy climbing up the muddy hill.

I enjoyed cross country  because I got to hangout with my friends and get very muddy and take a long warm shower when I got home. 

What I enjoyed in my spare time

While in my spare time during winter I enjoyed reading chapter books like been there done that and baking with my mum, I also enjoyed playing games with my sister when shes home. And this winter I got to see my niece Channel that I haven't seen in years. 

I really enjoyed my winter this year.

Term 2 reflection

My most favorite thing about this term was power play because power play is fun and helps my creativity grow.
Another  thing I liked about this term was having three breaks because I used to hate having to stay in class for around two hours but now I get to run around in mini break.
Just one more thing I like to add is term two was great!

This is my bugs bunny on google drawing. The hardest thing to do when making bugs bunny was the face, because the tooth had to be in the right place and the nose was hard also because its so small 
and I couldn't move it, so  I had to make it big again and place it in the right place and the rest was ok.

My top outdoor spot.

My top outdoor spot would have to be Fielding because it’s quite
a calm place to be and also I do dairy event down there.
And I feel like it has a country feeling to it,
also I wouldn’t mind living down there for a whole two weeks,
that’s how good it is for me.

Now I’m going to tell you a bit more about Fielding,
Fielding holds dairy event which is the biggest show in
New Zealand
(even people from the south island come up to this great  show).
Fielding is down south and it takes around a 6 hour drive
to get down there (that includes the stops).

Yes it might not be outdoors, but it’s outdoors to me.

My poem about rain

Rain 

Rain falls down, making me cold, I wish it was gone but no sun came out,

The rain floods my house up to the tippy toe, I wish it was over but I can't dream anymore, 

Puddles form to make a flood, people pray as they go on top of their homes to stay away,

This is rain and it can be deadly.

P positive so well this year has been going good for me my learning is doing good and also I done over an hour of IXL for the whole year.

I interesting something interesting this year is power play because last year we didn't have power play.

Rain falls like bombs in the wind , gun are shot, 
Dead body's left behind, we remember them to this day,
As ANZAC.
They lost their lives to help us, their family's prayed for them to come home,
But some never did.
They thought about their family's which might have been bombed.
ANZAC'S helped us for are tomorrow.

Power play

Power play:
When I heard of power play I was so exited and quite scared of what it was going to be like. I did do family play which got really boring quite quickly. I love power play.

Now that we got twister in power play everyone loves to do it, even me.


I hope power play stays. 

Mothers day

 

I chose this cow photo because my mum loves farming, and she was also a registered nurse.


When I'm sad my mum makes me happy again. If my mum is sad I'll try to make her happy. If I'm scared my mum will comfort me until I am alright. My mum is the best. If I didn't have my mum I would be the saddest person in the world.

The best part of week 1

When I came back from the holidays and it was the start of term 2 week 1 I had to get use to the new timetable and power play. 

But the best part of week one was power play because we get to play and join in with other people and you can play outside and inside.

I really liked week 1 term 2.

When making the pizza box I didn't really know what to do I asked and someone showed me how to do it. I really think I did a good job.

How to make a pizza.

First wash your hands before starting.

What you need to make a pizza 
Cheese 
Ham
Tomato paste
Pizza base
Oven tray
Spoon

1. Place the pizza base on your bench

2. Get your tomato paste and your spoon to speared evenly on your pizza base

3. Get your cheese and grate it then sprinkle it on to your pizza

4. Get your ham and place on your pizza 

5. Put your pizza on the oven tray 

6. Then put your pizza in the oven then cook for 15-20 min

7. When done cut evenly and enjoy.

My weekend

On my weekend I stayed at home and I started to read in my bed. On Sunday I went to Thames and got a book called " The worlds worst children 2 " I love the 1st one so my mum got me the 2nd, I started to read the second one and I love it already. This is my weekend and I hope you enjoyed.

Chapter Chat

Today I'm going to tell you about chapter chat and an active that I loved the most. 

This is my favorite active because it's one of my first one I did and I really like my work. 

Know I will tell you about chapter chat. Chapter chat is where we choose actives to do for the week and every Friday we post them and look at other peoples work. I love doing chapter chat and I wish more can come soon.

Learning powers

The learning power I'm going to talk about is connecting. I think connecting means to connect with other people like in group and not with your friends to have a chat even if they sit next to you move away unless you can keep quite and don't talk to them. Another meaning that describe connecting  is to talk to people around you with learning talk but not like " what should we play at lunch time ". An activity that would be great for this learning power is an connecting game where we have to make a piece of art work blindfolded and the other people have to guide the person that is making the piece of art work.

Dear Whetu teachers

Dear Whetu teachers, my name is Ava and I want to tell you about me and my family. My mum Heather is a cows person she loves me and my sister Joanna a lot, my mum is caring, loving and most of all I love her. My dad Stuart is strong loves beer and a good father. My sister Joanna loves to show cattle shes not afraid to say
her thing on cattle if they are to fat or its perfect.

When I'm not at school I like to do any thing like going down the farm or just looking at the cows coming in to be milked.

I'm very excited for cross country this year because I love to run and I like when its muddy but not when it drys on your skin and it quite hard to run but, I like cross country.

Another thing I can't wait for is made awards I love to see the creations people made and if they are good in my words I would give it a five star if I could.

All about me bag reflection

These are the things I put in my all about me bag the first thing I put in my all about me bag was a ribbon to show that I love to show cattle, the second thing I put in my all about me bag was old coins because I like to collect things, the third thing I put in my bag was a photo of my teddy bear Bump he is very special to me because my big brother gave it to me when I was little and he died when I was 19 months old. The last thing I put in my bag was a packet of cards to show I love to play with cards.

If I could add one more thing in my bag it would be a photo of my cat because I love her very much she is a wonderful cat.

Something I found interesting in somebody else bag was dog hair.

Whetu's new logo

This is the new Whetu logo. I chose the colors because they stand out.   The stars are blue because they make the Whetu star stand out. There are different shaped stars like  5 pointed stars, 4 pointed stars and 6 pointed stars, even a few diamonds as tiny stars. 
          

The starting of school this year

The start of school this year was good I liked I saw my friends and teachers what I loved the most was doing my island even when I started later than everyone else I still got it finished at the end. Another thing for me was doing work I loved going to school and doing my work and I thought it was weird walking into Whetu and everything was moved around like the television was turned around and we didn't have reading logs and much more. It was confusing for me but I got used to it and now we are doing chapter chat which is cool, because we can use twitter for our learning which I think is super cool. I think the start of this year of school is going good so far
